JFK Assassination Theories

We are trying to understand the nature of a possible conspiracy to assassinate U.S.A. President John F. Kennedy which deed was accomplished on November 22, 1963.

So far the conspiracy theories mostly dismiss the possibility of Lee Harvey Oswald having been the lone assassin. Before Oswald was himself gunned down by Jack Ruby, while in the custody of police, Oswald stated on film, that he was a “patsy” implying his being “framed.”

I want to start by discussing is the possible spreading of disinformation in the form of nebulous and unproven statements concerning a high cabal of unnamed conspirators. The deliberate spreading of made-up, imaginary, plausible disinformation about a conspiracy does not mean there was not a plot of some nature aimed at killing the president. But such imaginings would serve to make it less likely that a real conspiracy could be discovered, or if it were discovered, be proved. If the disinformation were shown to be deliberate and known, it might be a clue as to the true nature of any possible conspiracy. The perpetrators would stand to benefit by sowing doubt and/or confusion, and would be able to rest more easily in their beds.

Even true information can be used for propaganda purposes. Sometimes  true information can be used to justify action or inaction on a political level. For example, if I publish true information that you agree with, it gives me credibility in your eyes, and you will be more likely to agree with political positions I advocate, such as a request for monetary contribution to accomplish some worthwhile goal, or actions aimed at helping a political movement, etc. True information or false disinformation can also intimidate and discourage action, if presented in such a way to cause fear.

I would like to begin with a book JFK by L. Fletcher Prouty, first published in 1992. Prouty, a former colonel in the United States Air Force, connected with many activities of the U.S.Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) before and during the Viet Nam war era, implies that President Kennedy ran afoul of powerful interests connected with the CIA and the military-industrial complex, because Kennedy wanted to wind down the Vietnam war, instead of the vast escalation which occurred under the auspices of his successor, Lyndon Johnson, which would have caused the loss of revenue to, for example, helicopter manufacturers, and in addition would have been inimical to the interests of unnamed powerful international entities who are alleged to desire a constant state of war and genocide, which Prouty characterizes as “Malthusian” in principle. Most of that book analyzes the Viet Nam war which Prouty claims was instigated by the CIA, and makes a credible case for that. Then, without alleging any specific conspirators by name, he tries to prove that there was sufficient motive on the part of the Malthusian warmongers, to hire “mechanics”, i.e., professional assassins to kill Kennedy.

The book is filled with innuendo, and it has some perhaps revealing non-sequitors which I won’t criticize at this time. Just now I want to draw attention to one specific part beginning on page 310 where Prouty implies that subsequent presidents were intimidated by the unnamed powerful entities associated with the invisible world conspiracy. “Some people say Nixon became paranoid. that would be understandable.” And again, “Gerald Ford… He, too, know the sound of bullets and understands their lesson”. “President Reagan… was a member of the Rockefeller Commission that studied CIA activities in the United Sates. … He learned about allegations concerning the assassination of President Kennedy and of the CIA’s role in foreign assassination attempts… Then, on the steps of the Washington Hilton in 1981, he, too, was felled by an assassin’s gun. On that day, if not before, he learned how the game is played.”

It actually staggers my imagination to think that the attempt to assassinate Reagan by John Hinckley, who is still alive and incarcerated in a mental institution, even being considered for home visits from time-to-time, had anything to do with hired assassins in association with a mysterious cabal of Malthusian genocide mongers. That guy is not even being held incommunicado and regularly talks to professional psychiatrists on the public payroll. This is by no means the only fishy thing about the book. In general it tries too hard to prove its point without proving it. And more is likely to be said about it later.

In God We Trust the Penny Coin

The penny coin still exists for what reason?
Other than simple inertia and incompetence on the part of elected officials, which is also a valid reason, Conspiracy Theory suggests two possibilities, not mutually exclusive.
A. It is  psychological warfare against the general population. It discourages people from revolting. How? It reminds them of the futility of their piddling existences. Dicking with pennies every time they pay cash, they feel somehow useful, doing something with their hands, having a human relationship however brief, with a random cashier. Feeling a remote connection with a past when the penny was somehow useful for paying taxes at least, and when it actually functioned as a unit of purchase. Now it is still legal tender, but by law, a merchant is not required to take more than fifty of them in a transaction, as payment.

When I say it discourages the People from revolting, I don’t mean it is enough to discourage them from actually being revolting. This is largely a matter of individual choice.

B. The motto in God We Trust, reminds everyone that money, especially the Penny coin, is the Root of All Evil. Instead of the Penny, we should trust in God to deliver our Nation to Prosperity, since by one’s individual efforts, the chance of achieving that goal are almost nil. The Byzantine Tax Code practically assures, that only large corporations can afford the legal and accounting help to make a business prosper.

The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is supposed to prohibit Congress from making a law “respecting the Establishment of Religion”, but the Tax Code does the opposite, giving Churches and ministers of the Gospel huge tax breaks, while the dysfunctional, corrupt, and probably soon to be more oppressive Government bleeds most of the People dry.

Repealing the 16th Amendment which authorized the Income Tax, may be the only way to stop the madness.

Bananas of the World in Danger

According to an article in the new Yorker Magazine http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2011/01/10/110110fa_fact_peed , a soil-propagated blight is wiping out entire plantations of the kind of bananas commonly sold, the Cavendish variety. Once a plantation is affected, Cavendish bananas apparently can’t be grown again there for many years, if ever.
